What do I need to get a library card?
To get a library card you will need to provide picture ID.
How old do children need to be to get a library card?
Children need to be six years old. Children under 14 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian
to apply for a card.
How much does a library card cost?
The first card is free. Replacement cards cost $3.
How many items can I check out?
The first time you use your library card you are allowed to check out three items. After that, you may
check out up to 20 items on your card.
How long may I keep library materials?
Library materials are checked out for two weeks.
Can I renew the items I have checked out?
You may renew items by phone or email. Items can be renewed twice unless there is a waiting list.

Do you have a meeting room?
The Horseshoe Bend Library offers a large meeting room. The Calico Rock and Melbourne Libraries
can recommend meeting places in their communities.
Do you offer internet to the public?
Each branch offers free public computers and wifi access.
How much does it cost to use the internet?
Access to our internet and use of our computers is free. If you choose to print there is a fee of 10 cents
per page.

Anyone can use our internet. Children under the age 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
to use our computers or internet.
Who governs the Izard County Library?
The Izard County Library is governed by a five member library board. These board members are
appointed by the Izard County Judge.
How is the Izard County Library funded?
The Izard County Library is funded by a one mill property tax millage. Miscellaneous revenue is
added through memorials, donations, collected fines and fees for copies and other services.
Do we offer a fax machine for public use?
Yes. Each branch offers faxing for a fee.
